Ingredients
For exact amounts, be sure to check out the recipe card below! You will need:
Fresh peaches – can sub frozen peaches, just omit the ice
Blanco tequila – if you are looking for a mocktail margarita, you can omit the tequila. Otherwise a high quality blanco tequila is necessary for this classic cocktail.
Limes – fresh lime juice is everything in a margarita. Don’t forget to also cut some lime slices for garnish.
Fresh orange juice or orange flavored liqueur like Cointreau or Grand Marnier – I like it with the orange juice for a lower alcohol cocktail. You can also sub triple sec.
Honey or maple syrup – this gives the peach puree a little extra sweetness without the need for simple syrup
Ice cubes- since we are using fresh peaches for a frozen margarita, ice will give us that frosty margarita finish that we are looking for.
Fresh mint – optional garnish, but really takes it up a notch in my opinion. I love peaches and mint together!
Salt or sugar – to rim your glass like a pro.
How to Make Frozen Peach Margaritas using Fresh Peaches
These yummy frozen drinks come together in a blender very easily!
- First, wash and pit your peaches. I don’t peel them, but you certainly can, especially if your blender isn’t super powerful.
- Next, juice those limes.
- Finally, place everything in the blender and puree until frosty and smooth. I love to serve fresh peach margaritas in a chilled glass with a salt rim and fresh mint and a slice of lime as garnish!
How to Rim a Glass with Salt
After blending your peach margarita, it’s time to pour it into a salt rimmed glass. Or, if you’d rather, you can do a sugar rim. Here’s how:
- Cut a notch in a lime wedge.
- Run the notch around the rim of the glass until the top of your glass is nice and wet all the way around.
- Pour your coarse salt and sugar on a shallow dish. Place your glass rim side down and turn to cover the rim with your salt or sugar. It’s that simple!
Expert Tips and Tricks
- The better your peach, the better the fresh peach puree will be. Taste first or use a high quality frozen peach for best results!
- Fresh limes are a must – and to get the most juice out of your limes, a lemon squeezer comes in very handy,
