This Homemade Fresh Peach Salsa Recipe is delicious, super easy to make, and comes together in less than 10 minutes. Made with fresh tree-ripened peaches, crisp veggies, creamy avocado and fresh lime, it’s perfect as a dip, with tacos, or over fish, chicken, or pork.
When it comes to my favorite summer produce, fresh peaches are certainly top of the list and I love finding all kinds of ways to enjoy them: Peach Crisp, Air Fryer Peaches, even Peachy Goat Cheese Pizza.
This Homemade Fresh Peach Salsa is the peach recipe I make most often. We’ve used this fantastic, flavorful fresh fruit salsa in a few other recipes before, namely my Chicken Carnitas with Avocado Peach Salsa and my Grilled Pork Tacos with Avocado Peach Salsa.
But it absolutely stands on its own as the perfect summer dip with tortilla chips or mini bell peppers for your parties or just for the beach or poolside. So I figured it was about time to give this fresh and bright summer salsa it’s own post. If you haven’t tried it yet, this is your sign!
Why I love this recipe
- fresh peach salsa is so delish and goes well with everything, especially chicken, pork, or fish
- it’s sweet and savory, and also less acidic than traditional tomato salsa
- it’s one of the best was to use fresh ripe peaches that you get during peach season
- family friendly – kids love it, too
- so simple to make and uses healthy, fresh ingredients
- great as an easy appetizer, side dish, or topping for other recipes
Ingredients Needed

- Peaches– you can use fresh or frozen and you can either peel them or leave the skin on. Just make sure you pick some nice and ripe, firm peaches.
- Avocado– adds a little creaminess to the salsa. You can omit this ingredient if you don’t have ripe avocado or to fit your macros. Most peach salsa recipes do not call for avocado, so this is what makes my recipe unique.
- Bell Pepper– you can use any color, but red is especially pretty.
- Red Onion– we prefer to use red onion, but if in a pinch you can use white onions or a yellow onion. TIP: soak your diced onion in water to remove some of the bite.
- Minced Jalapeno– this adds a mild spice and flavor, just be sure not to include any of the seeds or your salsa will be spicy!
- Fresh Cilantro– not a fan of cilantro? Feel free to omit it or use other fresh herbs that you do prefer.
- Lime– you’ll juice the whole lime. In a pinch, you can use some fresh lemon.
Instructions
This recipe is super simple. All you have to do is prep all your ingredients and then mix them together in a small mixing bowl. Serve and enjoy!
Helpful Tips
- Always give your salsa a little taste test before serving and adjust the level of salt and lime juice to your preference.
- You can chop and dice the ingredients up into as big or small pieces as you prefer. You can use a sharp knife to do all the work, or you can use a vegetable chopper, but I don’t recommend trying to chop it all up with a food processor as the pieces will get too small.
- If you plan to enjoy your salsa over a few days, you can leave the avocado out or just add it right before serving.
Recipe FAQs
While fresh peaches are recommended for the best flavor and texture, you can use canned peaches as a substitute in a pinch. Make sure to drain them well before chopping and incorporating them into the salsa. If you are using frozen peaches, be sure to thaw and drain them before mixing with the other ingredients.
Yes, it’s gluten free, dairy free, and also vegan! A great recipe to make for anyone with dietary restrictions.
I love the sweet and savory flavor profile of this recipe, but if your peaches aren’t sweet enough, you can add a touch of maple syrup or honey.
Meal Prep and Storage
To Prep Ahead: This salsa is best enjoyed the same day that you make it, for optimal flavor and freshness of the ingredients. If you want to prep ahead, you can chop veggies and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to enjoy the salsa. Or you can put together the entire recipe, leaving out the avocado until just before serving.
To Store: Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you add the avocado, this time will likely be reduced to 1-2 days. Store the avocado pit in the salsa to keep it from browning.
To Freeze: I personally would not freeze this salsa, as it’s likely that the texture of the salsa will change once you freeze and thaw it. But if you do freeze it, do so in a freezer safe bag, and thaw in the refrigerator.
What to Serve With This Batch of Peach Salsa
Any time you would use pico de gallo or fresh salsa in a recipe, you can use this delicious peach salsa in place of it!
This fresh salsa would make a great appetizer to serve by itself with your favorite tortilla chips.
You can also serve this on some Chicken Tacos, Pork Tacos, or Fish Tacos. Swap out the Mango Salsa for this salsa on our favorite Fish Tacos. Add a dollop or two with your Taco Skillet or with Air Fryer Shrimp.
