Whipped Cottage Cheese
I have been prioritizing protein in my diet and this delicious whipped cottage cheese recipe has been a staple snack. And I actually look forward to it. It helps me manage my sweet tooth in a healthier way while also hitting my protein goals.
Growing up, my grandmother and I loved eating cottage cheese with canned peaches and pineapple, so I don’t mind its texture. But if you are like many of my readers who aren’t a fan of cottage cheese, the creamy texture of whipped cottage cheese is a total game changer.
And when you add plain Greek yogurt, lemon zest, and fresh fruit to the mix, ordinary cottage cheese turns into a crave-worthy dessert that fits your macros.

Ingredients
All you need is a few simple ingredients to make this yummy treat!
- plain Greek yogurt and low-fat cottage cheese – the blend of tangy yogurt and creamy cottage cheese are the perfect base for this healthy treat. No cream cheese or sour cream needed!
- vanilla extract – make this more dessert-y.
- vanilla protein powder – not only does this add extra grams of protein, but it also helps to sweeten and thicken the cottage cheese and Greek yogurt mixture. I have used different kinds of protein powder with success. Just be sure to choose one that you like the flavor of.
- raw sugar or whatever sugar you have on hand – you can swap this with a drizzle of honey pr maple syrup, but the granulated sugar also helps to thicken this into a no-bake cheesecake type of texture.
- zest from one lemon – do not skip the lemon zest. It truly takes this over the top for me and really gives it the cheesecake flavor!
- toppings – blueberries, raspberries, or other fresh fruit, and crushed gluten free graham crackers (I love these Simple Mills Sweet Thins. This would also be yummy with mini chocolate chips on top.

Recipe FAQs
Yes! You can blend cottage cheese with or without the Greek yogurt and add ingredients like fresh herbs, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and even hot honey for a more savory snack. Eat it as a high-protein dip or creamy spread with crackers or fresh vegetables.
I love Good Culture Cottage Cheese, but since I am a frequent Aldi shopper, I tend to also buy their store brand. This recipe does work with regular cottage cheese – the full-fat variety or fat free, too.
Cottage cheese has a creamy, milky flavor with a subtle tang that is similar to a yogurt or sour cream. Lower fat cottage cheese can be a little more tart, but it is very brand dependent.
